Free Monthly Horoscope - August Zodiac Birthday, Leo the Lion!

Happy August!
Hope you are all staying cool during these hot weeks. I have enjoy spending my time out on the deck, checking out the mountainous view, and seeing all the various shades of greens, as the trees and greenery seem to be completely peaked right now with growth. Completely gorgeous. Other than spending free time outdoors in the backyard or out in the pool, or the back yard - I've been staying inside when it's too hot, just flirting with the central air, lol. After living in Florida (caliente!) for a few years, I personally prefer the cooler weather in the Northeast, and favor the Autumn and Winter months (I am a December baby!), and love the changes of the seasons.

One of my favorite activities (if weather permits) is camping outdoors to watch the meteors. The annual Perseid meteor shower peaks around the nights of Aug. 11 and 12, and this particular display can produce as many as 50 to 100 fast, bright meteors per hour. Can you say lawn chairs, blankets, and bonfire? Oh yeah baby...

My schedule has been recently updated, as I'm not available for telephone readings during the weekends now, but I am still available Monday thru Friday from 12pm noon until 7pm. We are busy getting the booth ready for Pittsburgh Renaissance Faire. (m'lady hasth received a lovely makeover this year!) So if you happen to be in the local area, stop by to say hello, as I will be at the "So Sayeth the Soothsayer" booth. I will be available for live readings agan, and if you happen to purchase a reading with me (mention that you found me from my website or blog) and you will receive an additional 5 free minutes! The Faire is a royal blast, and it starts August 23 and lasts until September 28, 2008.

Last, I thought I might share my thoughts on some prayer beads that I had recently purchased. Prayer beads can be used how ever you choose to use them, for a religious practice, spiritual enrichment, or wearing them for positive energy and strength. I personally like them for meditation. I came across the Goddess Rosaries by Lunaea Weatherstone a few years back, and recently returned back to her website (there was definitely a calling!) to find the perfect art and design for me. I got the beautiful set of prayer beads to enhance my own personal practice, and I was thrilled! They arrived in a beautifully designed cloth handbag, the pink necklace and art is gorgeous, and perfect for my purpose. The design that I chose felt magical and personalized - like they were designed just for me! She has much more information about the beads, as well as many creative pieces to choose from, available on her website shop at
www.lunaea.com
Thank you Lunaea! I absolutely love them!

Astrological Happenings

We can reap wonderful benefits while the Sun, Mercury, and Venus stimulate our courage and confidence in Leo this month. It's a wonderful time to redeem yourself, to invite romance back into your life, to get noticed for a raise or promotion, and to just have a sunshiny day with family and the kids! The month starts us out with the New Moon in popular Leo, helping us to plant the seeds of our dreams, which is also encouraged with a Solar Leo Eclipse the very same day! This energy is like handfuls of candy and other goodies being tossed freely into the crowd. Will you just sit back and let someone else have all the fun? or will you actually get up off your behind and take advantage of all that is available to you?

Especially when gracious Venus shares her candy with Pluto on August 5, showing you how far a little kindness can take you. Awesome energy for love and work. Then she slides into serious Virgo on August 6, allowing us to take careful steps towards our goals, to replenish our own resources again. Busy Mars squares Uranus later in the day, as Mercury opposes Neptune... which could make you feel like it's you, against the world. The Moon in Libra could help you take a practical approach on any challenges for this day. Saturn is still in Virgo, and now that lovely Venus has joined the classroom, he's gonna ask some tough questions like: "big deal? what's love got to do with it?"

On August 10, Mercury joins Virgo, to help you figure out some questions that you have had on your mind for the months. Communication and thoughts will be clear, which can help you solve issues with some new personal decisions. But even though Venus conjuncts Saturn on August 13, and you are feeling comfortable with the reality of things - you may start experiencing your own insecurities and fears when the Sun quincunx Uranus, with a Capricorn Moon on August 14... where making a change (physically or mentally) may not be as easy as you imagined it to be. If you are on a health kick at this time, or breaking some habits or addictions - your willpower will be truly tested. The changes that you are making should be for improvements for your personal self and no one else, and you may need to seriously look at your own daily habits as Mercury conjuncts Saturn on August 15. The Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius could help you find the answers that you need, if you simply listen to your inner self, and see the signs around you. New awareness and inspirations arise during this time. Later, Venus trines jolly Jupiter, to help you find smart solutions, and possibly, you could get more out of this that you could have imagined.

As pushy Mars squares intense Pluto while the Moon stands strong in Aquarius, you could be faced with your own inner demons when challenged. You may want to try remembering your dreams around this time, for inner direction. Mars then schmoozes his way into Libra on August 19, and his energy could be just what you needed, to make fair rational decisions at this time. Libra tames some of the Mars rough edges, and creates more charm and drive. You may even feel quite generous during this time, and share your positive energy and candy with others on August 21 when the Leo Sun trines Pluto and an Aries Moon. You may feel like things are finally falling into place, and back in control.

Sun enters Virgo on August 22, and while this can be a properous time to take charge and keep things in order for yourself, August 23 quirky Uranus squares Mercury and Venus - and could have you questioning your self and your needs. Should these personal doubts arise (and they are more likely to strike a cord with Saturn the Taskmaster in Virgo), then take the time to question your desires and motives, by making the "pro and cons" list, on paper. This list, written by you, will show you where you are strong, and where you are weak. Saturn is here to toughen you up a bit, to make you a responsible individual when it comes to yourself, your work, and your relationships.

Mercury leaves analytical Virgo enters inspirational Libra on August 28, which will aid in leaving your doubts behind, as you pick up gear and tread lightly to reach an understanding with yourself as well as with others. Communicating with relationships and co-workers can be beneficial to both parties - with a light approach and the right questions, to get answers to what you've been struggling to learn, but with the Venus Pluto square on August 29, this can suggest that just because you are getting the answers... that it doesn't mean that you necessarily have to like the answers that you are receiving. Then by Virgo's New Moon on August 30, you may find yourself planting new seeds to regain your own self-respect, and determined to succeed in your own endeavors. You may even decide on a time-out for family and relationships... but with little Miss Venus coming home later in sweet Libra, you may decide to keep all of your inquisitive thoughts and nervous energy to yourself, and just go along with the flow of things... for now.

Tarot Insight
This month's tarot message shares 'what we all need to know' about this month, and insight comes from the Fool. Don't be afraid of taking chances - or daring yourself to reach further than where you have been. Effort is action, and a move means change, meaning growth and moving forward (if plans have been well thought out). How do you know how the outcome will be - unless you quit analyzing it, and simply just go out and do it. Be different now. Chase the dream. Who cares what everyone else thinks? Just do it already. Make phone calls, initiate communication, be the first to break the ice. Wonderful energy rises from the Fool... from new opportunities, new attitudes, new people, new job, etc. New changes are bound to excite the imagination, triggering a new inspiration to travel a new road. This is all about making some new choices for YOU and no one else. Open your mind, and you open a window (or two) of opportunity.

Happy Birthday!
LEO Born July 23 - August 22... Leo is the sign of the lion... the king of the jungle. Leos are full of strength, generosity, and leadership skills. Leo is a masculine fire sign and fixed. These original interpretations from www.starcana.com let you know that they are used to creating what they are looking for in life, but only on their terms. This sign is ruled by the sun, which conveys a bright sunny attitude, cheerfulness, and confidence. The more one applauds or compliments the lion, the gentler this pussycat becomes. Many leos have a personality that shines with creativity, passion, and fierce ambition. They are good-hearted and true romantics. Their best color is orange for honorable intentions. Leo rules the heart and the back, which can make them prone to heart-related problems and chronic back pain.

It's Just a Joke
The inventor of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson, died and went to heaven. At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur, "Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want in Heaven." God recognized Arthur and commented, "Okay, so you were the one who invented the Harley Davidson motorcycle?" Arthur said, "Yep, that's me." God said, "Well, what's the big deal in inventing something that's pretty unstable, makes tons of noise and pollution and can't run without a road?"
Arthur was apparently embarrassed, but finally he said, "Excuse me, but aren't You the inventor of woman?" God said, "Yes." "Well," said Arthur, "professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention:
1. There's too much inconsistency in the front-end protrusions;
2. It chatters constantly at high speeds;
3. Most of the rear ends are too soft and wobble too much;
4. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust;
5. And the maintenance costs are enormous!"
"Hmmmmm, you have some good points there," replied God, "hold on." God went to His Celestial super computer, typed in a few words and waited for the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.
"Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed," God said to Arthur,
"But according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours."

Enjoy your summer!

July Horoscope - Happy Birthday Cancer the Crab!

Happy July all!
- It's Fourth of July, and yesssss... I STILL love fireworks! I am still a big kid about it, and I write this same line every year, lol - so I will spare you my obnoxious and childish behavior! But I will also add that since September 11, I truly am more aware and appreciative of what our country represents, and very grateful for the people who protect it to this very day. Independence day is more meaningful to me. And of course, I will be celebrating the Fourth of July with family and friends in the evening, but I will be accepting calls during the earlier part of the day.

- If you would like to meet me, I will be doing live entertainment again this year at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival, at the "So Sayeth the SootherSayer" booth, as an Astrologer and Card Reader, as well as an Advisor to the Kings! This engagement will keep me busy for a few weekends. AND unavailable for any Saturday readings from August 23 until September 28. When the festival is over in October, I will become available once again on Saturdays.

- My hours have been extended, as I am organizing my home life and professional life better (Thanks to Saturn in Virgo) - and you can now reach me Monday through Saturday from 11am until 7pm, on eastern standard time. As other mothers out there will understand, there is an additional pressure of being a working mom and trying to take care of yourself, and your family too. I am re-adjusting my life, as I am weaning myself away from the domestic life, and getting a little more time for me, as my adorable Leo son is growing up into a fine, young man - who is busy with driving, working, his girlfriend, and making his life into life. He also has a birthday at the end of this month, and sending many blessings his way! Happy birthday Love! (We have a loving Cancer Sun and a sensitive Cancer moon right now, so excuse me while I get a little mushy over my boy, lol.)

Words to Consider from Cancer the Crab, and other sensitive souls..

"It isn't that 'I don't know'.... it's just that you wouldn't understand if I told you."

"My biggest weakness is my sensitivity. I am too sensitive a person. " Mike Tyson

“I understand with love comes pain, but why did I have to love so much?”

“There is a special bond between twin soul mates--unconditional love, respect for each other, bringing out the best in each other, and highly compatible.”

“God, When I was alone, and had nothing, I asked for a friend to help me bear the pain. No one came, except God. When I needed a breath to rise, from my sleep, No one could help me.. except God. When all I saw was sadness, and I needed answers, No one heard me, except God. So when I'm asked.. who I give my unconditional love to? I look for no other name, except God.” ~Tupac Shakur

Astrological Happenings...
©2007-2008 Starcana.com
We start this month of July with the Sun in tender Cancer, and New Moon in Cancer on July 2. This is very active energy, and especially for getting things taken care of, and chasing the success that we are looking for, be it personal or professional. Mars moves into serious Virgo on the July 1, and he will tame any excess energy, to create smart behavior, to help us pre-plan and organize our next move toward goals. This require slow, but steady effort. In regards to our relationships, you will find that this double Cancer will energize many sensitivities and vulnerabilities at this time, where words should be carefully chosen, especially when Mercury squares independent Uranus on July 5, and have certain individuals feeling challenged by certain individuals or circumstances. (Remember, Uranus went retrograde last month, and behavior can be quite quirky at this time). Never fear though, as we will have a chance to 'kiss and make-up' on July 6 as Mercury trines dreamy Neptune. On July 10, Mercury moves into protective Cancer, while Mercury opposes transforming Pluto. This can affect certain individuals on either a personal or professional level, to feel an aura of challenges and competition with those surrounding. Be sure to temper any entitled tantrums during this time, and use clear communication to get our point across - otherwise, someone will be jumping to conclusions, and possibly giving someone a reason to withdrawal (This someone could also be you). On July 12, Venus dances her way into dramatic Leo, and we will REALLY want to splurge and do a little more for ourselves. Just watch the cash flow during this time as we'll want to look for ways to make ourselves FEEL good with nice things, rather than resolving issues on a deeper inner level. Thanks to the Full Moon in Capricorn on July 18, you'll be able to distinguish a good buy from the 'not so good' buy. (Like choosing a new appliance versus expensive jewelry.) Mercury opposes Jupiter the very next day, we may not care about being practical, and just doing whatever our little heart desires. On July 22, our Sun moves into happy Leo, and we will be ready to party and 'get back out there' again. Especially as Mercury trines Uranus, giving us a lot more optimism and hope, to figure out a way to heal the world! Make some special wishes during this time, and then write your plan of action down during July 26, and Mercury slides into 'make it happen' Leo, and providing us with the confidence and courage to overcome any obstacle in our way, while Mars trines magical Jupiter later in the day, creating heroic attitudes to tackle any problem that we may be experiencing, and finding a solution that works for everyone involved.

Tarot Insight...
This month's tarot message shares 'what we all need to know' about this month, and insight comes from the Queen of Swords, as we should again use clear (but gentle) words during this highly emotional month - as to leave no room for any miscommunications or misunderstandings. Some of the planets will have some us reacting too quickly, and possibly reaching for space and distance. Use your creativity to spark new ideas and plant seeds for growth, for both in your personal life, and in your professional life.

Happy Birthday Cancer...
Born June 21 - July 22.... Cancer is the sign of the Crab. The Crab is sensitive, protective, and seeks security. Cancer is a feminine water sign as well as cardinal. A Cancer is a very strong person who will make their move in life based on their emotions. Click HERE for more personally-written zodiac details about the gentle and loving Cancer.

July is ruled by the Moon, which represents Mother, memories, refection, nurturing, etc. I thought this was something nice to share.

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said, "I love you, but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you." The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years. The demands of my work and my two children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.
"What's wrong, are you well?" she asked. My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.
"I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some time with you," I responded.  "Just the two of us." She thought about it for a moment, and then said, "I would like that very much."

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous.  When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on.  She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's.  "I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed," she said, as she got into the car.  "They can't wait to hear about our meeting."

We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy.  My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu.  Her eyes could only read large print.  Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me.  A nostalgic smile was on her lips.
"It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small," she said.
"Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor," I responded. During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation, nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other's life. We talked so much that we missed the movie. As we arrived at her house later, she said, "I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you." I agreed.

"How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got home. "Very nice.  Much more so than I could have imagined," I answered. A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack.  It happened so suddenly that I didn't have a chance to do anything for her. Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place mother and I had dined. An attached note said: "I paid this bill in advance.  I wasn't sure that I could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife.  You will never know what that night meant for me.  I love you, son."
At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: "I LOVE YOU" and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve.
Nothing in life is more important than your family.  Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till "some other time".

Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby... somebody doesn't know that once you're a mother, "normal" is history.

Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct... somebody never took a three-year-old shopping.
Somebody said being a mother is boring..  somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.

Somebody said if you're a "good" mother, your child will "turn out good"... somebody thinks a child comes with directions and a guarantee.

Somebody said "good" mothers never raise their voices.. somebody never came out the back door just in time to see her child hit a golf ball through the neighbor's kitchen window.

Somebody said you don't need an education to be a mother... somebody never helped a fourth grader with his math.
Somebody said you can't love the second child as much as you love the first... somebody doesn't have two children.
Somebody said a mother can find all the answers to her child-rearing questions in the books... somebody never had a child stuff beans up his nose or in his ears.
Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery... somebody never watched her "baby" get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten or on a plane headed for military "boot camp."
Somebody said a mother can do her job with her eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back... somebody never organized seven giggling Brownies to sell cookies.
Somebody said a mother can stop worrying after her child gets married... somebody doesn't know that marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings.
Somebody said a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home.. somebody never had grandchildren.

Somebody said your mother knows you love her, so you don't need to tell her... somebody isn't a mother.

This isn't just about being a mother, it's about appreciating the people in your life while you have them....no matter who they are.

Enjoy your summer.

June Horoscope - Happy Birthday Gemini Twins!

June 2008, Happy Summer Everyone...
I love June. It always brings fond memories of me and my son going out into the field at dusk, carrying an empty jar and lid with holes poked through, for catching oodles of lightning bugs! I love the warmth of the sun at this time, picnics with family and friends, barbecues, fires with marshmallows and hot dogs, and lawn chairs with blankets as we lie underneath the stars watching meteor shows. The summer solstice on the 20th is always a reminder that the hot weather is just about to become hotter, and the pool will be warmer for night swimming. I enjoy Father's day, as I help my Leo son plan surprises and special memories for his dad. My Libra husband (with his loving Pisces Moon) is an awesome father who shares good parenting skills of open communication, gentle truth, love and security. Since kids don't always 'listen', we know that they will usually 'mimic' what they see in their environment - so we believe that by 'practicing what we preach' will help our son to continue to benefit, and learn more from us. Happy Fathers Day to my readers, and Happy Fathers Day to my sweetie...

Words to Consider....
"Children learn to smile from their parents." ~Shinichi Suzuki

"It is a wise father that knows his own child." ~William Shakespeare

"Good parents give their children Roots and Wings. Roots to know where home is, wings to fly away and exercise what's been taught them." ~Jonas Salk

“It is not until you become a parent that judgment slowly turns to compassion and understanding.” ~Erma Bombeck

Astrological Happenings...
©2007-2008 Starcana.com
We all start this busy month with the Sun in Gemini, and New Moon in Gemini on June 3, and the main focus this month is on open communication - with friendships, family, work, and relationships. Wonderful opportunities can be available to express thoughts and emotions right now while Venus smoothes out rough spots on the 6th, and Mercury encourages confidence in yourself on the 7th. Mercury is still retrograde until June 19, so if you aren't completely honest with others or yourself - you could experience a few misunderstandings that could lead to heavier problems on or around the Full Moon, which is in Sagittarius on June 18. Sharp honesty can most likely lead to hurtful words and full blown reactions at this time... especially while Venus, the planet of love opposes Pluto, and enters sensitive Cancer. Use tact, kindness and soft words in your expressions at this time - otherwise sharp words can look like sharp knives and leave others to defending themselves, or hiding from you. Kindness DOES matter at this time. We also have Pluto moving into Sagittarius on the 14th, and you may find yourself becoming more comfortable within yourself, focusing more on your own thoughts, your own plans, and your own independence. Use this time to ground, and focus on healing. The Sun enters Cancer on June 20, and then Mars opposes Neptune on the 21st... and you could experience some harsh reality to a confusing situation around this time. Utilize Mercury Direct on June 19, and communicate with yourself about REALLY what is going on FIRST, as illusions can have some overreacting, without facing some realistic facts first... and this may promote a "time out" for some partnerships around the the last week of June, when Uranus goes retrograde, and the Sun squares the Moon on June 26. The energy can feel crazy at this time, but as along as you take the time to think - before you speak - that will conquer half of the problem.

Tarot Insight...
This month's tarot message shares 'what we all need to know' about this month, and insight comes from the Page of Swords, who arrives reversed and repeats after me... miscommunications, misunderstandings, and miscalculations. Without conquering good communication skills at this time, you can expect to experience continued worries and anxieties. The only way to get any peace, or to fix a problem during this time, is to gently confront it.

Happy Birthday Gemini...
Gemini is a masculine and mutable sign, and this makes them very adaptable and intellectual. They despise stagnation of any kind and thrive for circulation and movement (like their element Air). Mercury is the planet of communication, and it rules this sign. Freedom and space is a must. They are lively, witty, trendy, and let us not forget... charming!! It's Just a Joke...
A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning. The wife said, 'You should do it because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee. The husband said, 'You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.' Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.' Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.' So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says 'HEBREWS'.
